India Maps

At one end, MapMyIndia is trying to cover nook & corner of India, still there is so much to get through. Even the cosmos & metros are to be covered well enough. Too much to be worked on. Likewise the Google local maps too...

Is there any other site which does it better?

Ice Age 3

Happened to see Ice Age 3 recently...

Seems like with those many characters & with around 100 minutes to be filled up, directors are running out of ideas. Not a movie worth fulfilling like other animation flicks...

Indians Killed

If it happens to be in US & if the news media comes to know that some Americans are slained in a foreign soil, then that would be the biggest issue ever.

Today morning, it so happened there is small news coverage about 6 Indians in Afghan & that too by Talibans, in Times Now. Shouldn't this be the biggest coverage by every single news channel?

There is enough bigger coverage for Sania Mirza's engagement & whom & all she was spoke with during her lifetime.

What a pity, news channel are catering to people's mindset...

Nano...

What made Nano's booking so huge? I mean this news article talks about million.

Do we really have the infrastructure to handle a day where every house in India can have a car like in US? The population is still making the condition worse here...

Left outs...

Here is a short film video which show casts the reality in the world about hunger.

Well it is a coincidence that couple of days back I did see exactly the same thing here in India. I happened to start a bit very early to office. It was like 6:15Am & when I was driving, I could see in front of a good restaurant that couple of people were picking up the left out pieces of chicken & stuffs like that from trash bags.

So, such things do happen in India but my thoughts were like they will go for more business in some other small hotels or so & not like this video where they reach to daily bread & butter of some small family.

Tamils...

Why such a pathetic situation in Sri Lanka for Tamils? If Prabhakaran is captured, is Srilankan government gonna create great future for all people? Human life got no value today...

Tough Times...

We all know that change is the only constant & future is always unknown which makes this life so interesting. Isn't it?

From mid October till now, guess I have seen the unknowns to the max. That is from the health end of my li'l 1 yr old who has already seen so much of medicines, hospitals, tests, examinations, high viral fevers because of some unknown & serious kidney issue. What the heck!!! That has really tested all of us till now & still testing our patience.

Hope such bad unknowns are left behind & all is gonna be well from now on...

Slum story continues

Today's headlines in India about that li'l star from Slumdog millionaire being sold for Pounds 200000 by her parents. No wonder the movie is a big hit because that is what is reality. Disgusting but that is reality...

Here is the news

Did U Vote?

Just go to a polling booth in India & see how many people are standing in queue, especially those old aged senior citizens who are even unable to walk.

There was a very old couple standing in front of me in the queue where the old lady was not even able to stand in the queue & she waited for sometime & then she sat in the chair nearby. And then after sometime, everyone requested the old couple to walk to the booth directly without waiting. Without even knowing if they can get the privilege of voting ahead of everyone else they walked to the booth with some faith & questions in their eyes.

I mean when so many people hate the political system in India, when people keep talking about the problems & corrupted system, & when people don't go for voting & instead enjoy their personal needs, such seniors & people who really go to the polling set real example for the democracy.

ISS

Recently... a 15 inch piece of junk material it seems missed a international space station in its orbit from collision. What a surprise!! How come this kind of stuff has had never happened? Because there are always too many unknowns in the space which is always bound to hit the space station...

Till now, we have never heard of such a collision & let it better not happen...

Hindu Activists

Been a while...
The so called Hindu activists are so active especially in the state of Karnataka, aren't they? After their activities against the women in pub etc.
And now did you see the the latest - Their protest against the Charlie Chaplin statue in a beach? Heights of proclaiming that the Hindu sentiments & culture is being affected. Something to be laughed at, I guess.

Taj Hotels

Are Taj GVK different from the TATA's Taj Hotel chains? Either ways, Taj name itself will pull the crowd as a five star...
So, what's up with Taj GVK? They already have 3 hotels in the same road in Banajara Hills, Hyderabad & now they want to expand to one more hotel bit clobe by to their already existing hotels... Does this really make business sense? Hyderabad is booming for sure but how about 4 five star hotels in the same city & that too bit far away from the new international airport or from the HiTech SEZ's...

Semi final berths

It has been one tough fight for all the IPL teams & things have almost turned out to be 3 teams out of 4 are from North India. Well, in the case of ICL the winners were like Chennai & Hyderabad.

But the final game for Chennai has almost turned about to be one crucial one as it is between Chennai & Hyderabad & Chennai has a sleak chance to win. But what matters is, if Chennai wins they are in semis. If they lose, still they can be based on Mumbai's game against B'lore....

Hmmm.... This has become more than talk of the town.

Lallu's Rails

Even a bottom level selling person knows what rule has changed in rails - How Lallu is making sure things are changed upside down...

Recently when I was traveling, one fella was selling samosa & another person was in uniform. He advised the first person not to be on train or otherwise, he'll inform police.

It is as simple as it is... Let's take a train journey of 12 hours which usually has around 13+ second class coaches. Each coach has 72 berths. And one berth in 9 blocks is for RAC. So, total number of customer hours we are looking into is like 81 * 13 * 12. What more you need to turn around the financial status of rails.. :)

Reservations

No idea why all politicians are still behind different kinds of reservations based on castes.

The reservations in any place just makes the caste (if you see from one angle) to be lower in the society-community & so, I don't understand why the caste people want to put their caste lower in society. Just take the case of current Gujjars' crisis in Rajastan. Is it the mistake of the Chief Minister Vasundara Rajie to just keep on making promises from before the elections to the community that they'll get ST status...

India is improving & we should strive to get away based on caste based reservations. Because people are not differentiated no more based on their castes. It is all cross culturals now a days. Everyone gets their proper opportunity & the world is open for those who can work on it - Survival of the fittest/best. Even yesterday there was an article in the dailies on how a tribal women has scored a big rank in IAS exams.

Let's shun away from casteism & get into more reality based reservations - Check the intelligence, give the appropriate opportunity based on their financial status...

Natural disasters

Why are so many natural disasters occuring that too in the most populated segment - Burma's Cyclone, China's quakes?

Man... those are really some of the real disasters... Is that the nature's way of healing the imbalance created by man power?

Inflating to 7%

So what is driving the current inflation in India? It is way above the comfort zone of 4.5% just like last year.

  • I think the supply of basic commodities are well enough but there is a speculation or assumption that we are going to run low. Likewise, the global commodity prices will also have an impact. No wonder why Milk & vegetable prices are up.
  • Did you see the gingiley oil prices recently? It has gone up from like Rs 100 to around Rs 160. Is this purely to do with the crude oil price increase?
  • Obviously the per capita income in India has gone up & hence, the demand has also increased.
Let's see how Government is going to react.

Airport Compromise

With Shamshabad airport wide open for operations, the AP CM has made an initiative to reopen the "old" Begumpet airport for civil operations atleast for inter state flights.

That is in fact a good thought considering the time to commute to the new airport from inside the city which takes more than 2 hours & then to check in & other formalities another 1.5 hours while the total flight journey takens less than 0.5 hours...

Blu Ray... Is it?

I have been waiting to hear this news story for a long time - probably from the time i started blogging - like anyone else in the world... Which format of DVD is gonna win?

Seems like Blu Ray is making its impact. What are the statistics? Sony, Fox & Disney are ardent fans of Blu Ray. Lately, Warner Bros attached themselves to Blu. With that goes all of HBO & New Line. Blockbuster has now its word for Blu Ray. The remaining majors are Universal & Paramount pictures including Dreamworks. With Universal also claiming that their exclusive commitment to Toshiba's HD DVD is ending, in no time Blu Ray will be all over.

Blu Ray better got to start working on customer friendly features on top of its heavy storage capability.
